One of the recommendations
of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice
– SBSTTA, in 1995, was to facilitate the specimens digitalization of the
scientific collections and this will be used for the understanding of
the regional biodiversity. According to this recommendation, the Museum
of Natural History of the Ricardo Palma University (MHNURP) wants to
offer the metadata of its collections to the scientific community and to
the society in order to contribute to the knowledge of the national
biodiversity. For this objective is necessary that the MHNURP’s
scientific collection be digitalizated and organized in order to have
the understanding of the areas with null information and well-know
areas, at the same time, this will allow to coordinate with other
scientific collections about the current state of the Peruvian
biodiversity. |
