1.      Summary:

Create a Checklist of all the insect species known in the Country of Panama and add the highest amount of information about distribution, life history, and insect-plant relations as possible as the availability of both time and budget. Also there is a guarantee for a species list including all its taxonomic information. Besides the list, there will be provided information of distribution, life history and insect-plant interaction for 206 tropical bee species of Panama with information of distribution and natural history of at least 1,400 insect species (mainly butterflies) from Panama with records of another 500 insects of Panama. This information will be gathered from publications. databases and knowledge of the STRI experts. The databases will be created according to the definition of new data of IABIN and will be generated according to IABIN's standards and phylosophy.The information would be available without cost in the IABIN and STRI websites. The proyect will be coordinated and supervised by the entomologist of STRI, with experience in insects and Steven Paton, who has experience in data basing and digittion.
