1.    Summary:

DATAves at the moment is a data node of the Biodiversity Information System of Colombia - SiB through agreements subscribed with the Coordinator Team of the SiB of the Institute Alexander von Humboldt, who is also the focal point of IABIN for Colombia. RNOA was the first non governmental entity that placed its records on-line, completing one of the purposes settled down in the national strategy for the conservation of the birds. Actually, by means of a simple registration in the SiB portal it is possible to access about 145,000 records that at the present time are on-line. (Those of species threatened red Book of birds are not included). DATAves fulfills the necessary standards (Darwin Core) for information sharing, and it has been modified to allow online registration and data recording.
