1. Summary: |
The main goal of the
project is to systematize and release through the web information of
about 13.000 specimens of bees and pollinator bats deposited in the
Instituto de Ciencias Naturales (ICN) and in the Laboratorio de Abejas
of the Biology Department (LABUN). These collections are perhaps the
most important curators and providers of biological information about
pollinators for the country. The metadata of the project will be
generated, and controlled vocabularies will be used to increase the
quality of the data. All the information will be available in the
webpages of both the ICN and the LABUN, as same as through the IABIN
network and the Distributed Searches Engine of the SiB-Colombia,
coordinated by the Colombian focal point. |
