The main goal of this project is to database, photograph, georeference and release through the web information of 11,300 orchid specimens deposited in COL. In addition, the metadata of the project will be generated through the National Metadata Catalog of SIB-Colombia in Cassia web application.

7 Universidad Nacional de Colombia Specimens 10,000 Completed Create a system to geo-reference the world’s largest collection of biological specimens from Colombia. At the present time, there are 235,000 specimens digitized and made publicly available at the Institute’s website.
8 Universidad Nacional de Colombia - Herbario Nacional Specimens 10,000 Completed The main goal of the project is to digitize, georeference and release through the web information of about 40.000 specimens of cryptogams plants deposited in the Colombian National Herbarium.
