1. Summary:

The data we propose to digitize in this project, is especially about the
interaction among nativewild Chilean bees and their host plants they
visit. This work will be based on the registered information exhibited
by bees of the “Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso”
Collection. The database will show information of several bee species
visiting one species of plant, as well as those plant species being
visited by several species of bees. The data will be delivered in as a
result of observations and/or as bibliographic references as they become
available. The present proposal will expand knowledge on taxonomic
aspects, on interspecific relationships, and on geographic distributions
of bees and plants involved. Besides, in the long term, will be easier
to perceive cases of diminishing bee or plant species, the possible
implications of this declination, and the need for conservation of the
biological diversity. |
