1. Summary: |
Given that Geo-referenced records of
the occurrence of invasive species are of the highest interest for
establishing strategies of management and prevention and bearing in mind
that only less that 10% of the whole I3N Argentina database is
associated with geo-referenced information, the aim of this project is
to complete the available information with the corresponding
geographical coordinates of the localities of occurrence of the species,
all of this with the highest level of precision possible. indicating the
most probable point where the species was recorded and, when this is not
possible: indicating the geographic centre of the political unit of the
greatest possible resolution (municipality or province). Each piece of
information will be accompanied by a metadatum that clearly indicates
how it was obtained.
