1. Summary |
The
purpose of this proposal is to broaden and
going further into the process of compilation for the IABIN Catalogue of
metadata about relevant bibliographical documents of terrestrial, marine and
freshwater ecological systems of countries or regions of America. It provide
support for the development and the improvement of respective standard
classifications of the ETN-IABIN, as well as the future development of added
value tools focused on the ecosystem management. Documents related to
ecosystem classification and to ecosystem state, and also to degradation
factors will be compiled. Their metadata will be registered online following
a profile based on the simple Dublin Core standard (applying “Cassia”
software) in the language of the document under consideration. Besides, in
order to improve the accuracy of the registration of bibliography metadata
by institutions that contribute to the ETN with data content, several
activities will be carried out as review of their metadata, development of a
specific instruction guide, recommendations for the profile, etc. |
