2nd Many Strong Voices Stakeholders’ (MSV) Workshop

  March 31 - April 3, 2009

This workshop was organized by UNEP/GRID-Arendal, the Centre for International Climate and Environmental Research– Oslo and the UNEP Regional Office for North America, with support from the Organization of American States and the Climate Law and Policy Project, Government of Norway and the World Bank Institute.

The main goals of the workshop were:

  • Continue building the relationship between MSV partners;

  • Share knowledge on the impacts of climate change and how they are being addressed, including adaptation efforts, and regional outreach, education, and communication initiatives;

  • Report on the accomplishments and activities of MSV since the 2007 Belize workshop;

  • Confirm 5-year plan priorities and focussed a capacity building and action strategy for the UNFCCC negotiations and other key international and regional meetings leading up to Copenhagen COP XV and beyond; and

  • Develop the next steps in the SIDS vulnerability and adaptation assessment. More....
