Responsible for coordinating project activities on Trafficking in Persons, especially in Women and Children for Sexual Exploitation in the Americas. This project included field work in Belize, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala and Dominican Republic.

Collaborated in the drafting of the first resolution to combat trafficking in persons, especially women, adolescents and children, approved by the Assembly of Delegates of CIM in October, 2002, a second draft resolution on trafficking in persons, approved by the General Assembly of the OAS, June 2003; and inclusion of the prevention of trafficking of women and children in the tourism sector, as part of the declaration and plan of action adopted at the Regional Ministerial meeting on Tourism, held in Guatemala in June 2003.

Responsible for the coordination of a seminar on "Anti-trafficking legislation", held in Guatemala, August 2002, to PARLACEN (Central American Parliament), in cooperation with Alex Acosta, Civil Rights Division, Department of Justice; representatives of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), members of the Ministry of Justice, legislators and several NGOs en Guatemala.
