EMERGENCY GRANTS FOR THE OAS AND ITS EXTENDED FAMILY

The Rowe Memorial Benefit Fund was established as a trust by the former Director General of the Pan American Union, Dr. Leo S. Rowe, to be used for the welfare and emergency needs of employees of the Union and other persons within the general purview of the Pan American field.

  • The Rowe Memorial Benefit Fund will normally be used to disperse money only in the form of grants.

  • Such grants shall only be made to staff members and their family members,  holders of local contracts in GS/OAS offices and their family members, and GS/OAS retirees, etc.

  • The requests for funding should normally originate from an unforeseen catastrophic or serious event or occurrence, and the grant should be dedicated to alleviate a one-time need and not to solve a continuous or recurrent condition.

  • Donations from GS/OAS staff members, retirees, and their families will be the most important source of income for the Fund.

Grant funds are now available for individuals who are in need.

The Rowe Memorial Benefit Fund Committee encourages all staff members and the OAS extended family to contribute now and be part of this important effort.

The success of the Emergency Fund depends on your involvement.
