Recent actions regarding multilateral treaties

The following page describes actions taken during the past months regarding multilateral treaties:

On October 23, 2009, the Republic of Guyana designated the Office of the Minister of Home Affairs as the Central Authority for the purpose of the Inter-American Convention on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters.

On October 23, 2009, Uruguay deposited the instrument of accession to the Inter-American Convention on Serving Criminal Sentences Abroad.

On September 3, 2009, Haiti deposited the instrument of ratification to the  Inter-American Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities.

On July 17, 2009, Dominican Republic deposited the instrument of ratification to the  Protocol of Amendments to the Charter of the Organization of American States "Protocol of Washington".

On July 17, 2009, Dominican Republic deposited the instrument of accession to the  Inter-American Convention on Transparency in Conventional Weapons Acquisitions.

On July 17, 2009, Dominican Republic deposited the instrument of accession to the Inter-American Convention to Facilitate Disaster Assistance.

On July 16, 2009, Uruguay deposited the instrument of ratification to the Protocol to the Inter-American Convention on Taking of Evidence Abroad.

On June 16, 2009, Uruguay deposited the instrument of ratification to the Inter-American Convention on Conflicts of Laws Concerning the Adoption of Minors.

On May 26, 2009, Ecuador updated information and appointed the "Consejo de Participación Ciudadana y Control Social" as the central authority for the Inter-American Convention Against Corruption.

On April 30, 2009, The Commonwealth of The Bahamas deposited the instrument of ratification to the Inter-American Convention on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters.

On April 24, 2009, Dominican Republic deposited the instrument of ratification to the Inter-American Convention against the Illicit Manufacturing of and Trafficking in Firearms, Ammunition, Explosives and Other Related Materials.

On April 23, 2009, Uruguay appointed the "Ministerio de Educación y Cultura" as the central authority for the Inter-American Convention on International Traffic in Minors, the Inter-American Convention on International Return of Children and the Inter-American Convention on Support Obligations.

On April 23, 2009, Uruguay updated information and appointed the "Ministerio de Educación y Cultura" as the central authority for the Inter-American Convention on Letters Rogatory, the Protocol to the Inter-American Convention on Letters Rogatory, the Inter-American Convention on Proof of and Information of Foreign Law, the Inter-American Convention on the Taking of Evidence Abroad, the Protocol to the Inter-American Convention on Taking of Evidence Abroad, the Inter-American Convention on International Commercial Arbitration, the Inter-American Convention on Execution of Preventive Measures and the Inter-American Convention Against Corruption.

On April 17, 2009, Bolivia appointed the "Ministerio de Transparencia Institucional y Lucha Contra la Corrupción" as the central authority for the Inter-American Convention Against Corruption.

On March 11, 2009, Colombia appointed the "Instituto Colombiano de Bienestar (ICBG)" as the central authority for the Inter-American Convention on the Return of Children.

On March 11, 2009, Colombia deposited the instrument of ratification to the Inter-American Convention on the Return of Children with declaration.

On January 12, 2009, Republic of China deposited the instrument of acceptance to the Agreement Establishing the Inter-American Development Bank.

On November 21, 2008, Honduras deposited the instrument of accession to the Inter-American Convention on International Traffic in Minors.

On October 16, 2008, Chile deposited the instrument of ratification to the Protocol to the American Convention on Human Rights to Abolish the Death Penalty with reservation.

On September 5, 2008, Argentina deposited the instrument of ratification to the Protocol to the American Convention on Human Rights to Abolish the Death Penalty.

On September 5, 2008, Honduras deposited its instrument of accession to the Inter-American Convention on Conflict of Laws Concerning the Adoption of Minors.

On August 11, 2008, Peru appointed the "Ministerio de la Mujer y Desarrollo Social (MINDES)" as the central authority for the Inter-American Convention on the Return of Children.

On July 22, 2008, Uruguay appointed the "Ministerio de Educación y Cultura" as the central authority for the  Inter-American Convention on Letters Rogatory, Additional Protocol to the Inter-American Convention on Letters Rogatory, Inter-American Convention on Proof of and Information on Foreign Law, Inter-American Convention on the Taking of Evidence Abroad, Inter-American Convention on Execution of Preventive Measures, Inter-American Convention on Support Obligations, Inter-American Convention on the Return of Children, Inter-American Convention on International Traffic in Minors, and Inter-American Convention Against Corruption.

On July 14, 2008,  Colombia deposited the instrument of ratification to the Inter-American Convention against Terrorism.

On July 7, 2008,  Dominican Republic deposited the instrument of ratification to the Inter-American Convention on International Commercial Arbitration.

On June 9, 2008,  Guyana deposited the instrument of ratification to the Inter-American Convention on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters.

On June 9, 2008,  Guyana deposited the instrument of ratification to the Inter-American Convention against the Illicit Manufacturing of and Trafficking in Firearms, Ammunition, Explosives and Other Related Materials.

On May 23, 2008, Argentina appointed the "Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores, Comercio Internacional y Culto - Dirección General de Asuntos Jurídicos" as the central authority for the  Inter-American Convention on Letters Rogatory, Additional Protocol to the Inter-American Convention on Letters Rogatory, Inter-American Convention on Proof of and Information on Foreign Law, Inter-American Convention on the Taking of Evidence Abroad, Additional Protocol to the Inter-American Convention on the Taking of Evidence Abroad, Inter-American Convention on International Commercial Arbitration, Inter-American Convention on Execution of Preventive Measures, Inter-American Convention on Support Obligations, Inter-American Convention on the Return of Children, Inter-American Convention on International Traffic in Minors, Inter-American Convention on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters, Inter-American Convention Against Corruption and , Inter-American Convention Against the Illicit Manufacturing of and Trafficking in Firearms, Ammunition, Explosives, and Other Related Materials.

On May 23, 2008, Peru appointed the "Ministerio de Justicia" as the central authority for the Inter-American Convention on Letters Rogatory, Additional Protocol to the Inter-American Convention on Letters Rogatory, Inter-American Convention on the Taking of Evidence Abroad, Inter-American Convention on Execution of Preventive Measures and Inter-American Convention on Support Obligations.

On May 5, 2008,  Suriname deposited the instrument of ratification to the Inter-American Convention against the Illicit Manufacturing of and Trafficking in Firearms, Ammunition, Explosives and Other Related Materials.

On March 31, 2008, Suriname deposited its instrument of ratification to the Inter-American Convention on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters.

On March 7, 2008, Ecuador deposited its instrument of ratification to the American Treaty on Pacific Settlement (Pact of Bogota).

On February 5, 2008, Panama deposited its instrument of ratification to the Protocol of Amendment to the Inter-American Convention on an International Amateur Radio Permit.
