Activities undertaken

General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS), San Pedro Sula, Honduras, 2009

The department of international law gave funds for participation of afrodescendants to attend the Thirty-Ninth Regular Session of the OAS General Assembly, which was held in San Pedro Sula, on June 2 and 3, 2009. A parallel event was held concurrently with the General Assembly (see information) which was attended by Afro-descendant organizations and the Department of International Law. Its purpose was to continue to disseminate Project documents and so furnish Afro-descendant representatives with the necessary information to put forward recommendations and have a more active hand in the process. The representatives of the Afro-descendant organizations drafted a final declaration.
