The Eighth Meeting of Ministers of Justice or
Other Ministers or Attorneys General of the Americas
(REMJA VIII) requested holding a technical meeting
of the REMJA on the Network of Hemispheric Legal
Cooperation in the Area of Family and Child Law
during the second half of 2010. On that occasion the
Department of International Law will present the
results of two pilot meetings of the Network of
Hemispheric Legal Cooperation in the Area of Family
and Child Law, and REMJA will consider the
possibility of forming a working group on the
subject.
The purpose of this initiative is to implement
the Network of Hemispheric Legal Cooperation in the
Area of Family and Child Law as a working tool for
authorities in each country in the area of family
and child law. The network is in its pilot stage at
present and the participants include Argentina,
Bahamas,Brazil, Colombia, Canada, Dominican Republic
El Salvador, Granada, Mexico, Spain, and the United
States. .
