Georgetown University Conference Series on Inter-American Relations
The Department of International
Law, participated in Georgetown University's
on-going
lecture series on Latin American Relations, to
present an overview of the system for conflict
resolution in the hemisphere. The lecture is part of
a program that counts with the participation of
recognized scholars and luminaries on Inter-American
relations (including Amb. John Maisto, former U.S.
Permanent Representative to the OAS, Alvaro Uribe,
former president of Colombia, Michael Shifter
President of the Inter-American Dialogue, among
others) and is directed at university students from
Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Dominican Republic, El
Salvador, Panama and others. The lectures presented
by DIL centered on the manner in which the OAS
Charter and other treaties and instruments provide a
comprehensive system for the resolution of disputes
between States in the Western Hemisphere.
