CIDIP-II,
held in Montevideo, Uruguay in 1979,
adopted eight
international instruments concerning aspects of
international trade law and international procedural law, as
well as conventions on legal institutions related to the
general aspects covered by Private International Law. CIDIP-II adopted the following conventions on these topics:
the Inter-American Convention on Conflicts of Laws
Concerning Checks, the Inter-American Convention on
Conflicts of Laws Concerning Commercial Companies, the
Inter-American Convention on Extraterritorial Validity of
Foreign Judgments and Arbitral Awards, the Inter-American
Convention on Execution of Preventive Measures, the
Inter-American Convention on Proof and Information on
Foreign Law, the Inter-American Convention on the Domicile
of Natural Persons in Private International Law, the
Inter-American Convention on General Rules of Private
International Law, and the Additional Protocol to the
Inter-American Convention on Letters Rogatory.
