Micro, Small and Medium sized Enterprises

The micro, small and medium sized enterprises employ more than half of the labor force of the region, represent an important engine of growth and fulfill a fundamental role in the reduction of poverty and inequality in our countries.

From this perspective, the Department of Social Development and Employment (DSDE) develops institutional strategies to support the creation, promotion and strengthening of micro, small and medium sized enterprises of the region. In particular, the DSDE aims to support and strengthen government institutions and programs that address MSMEs at the national level to fight poverty, create employment, offer training, promote the use of information and communication technologies, and improve levels of competitiveness and productivity to facilitate their insertion in the national and international markets.
