CP/RES. 994 (1831/11)
DATE OF THE FORTY-SECOND
REGULAR SESSION OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY
(Adopted at its session held on December 2, 2011)
THE PERMANENT COUNCIL OF THE ORGANIZATION OF AMERICAN STATES,
TAKING INTO ACCOUNT Article 43 of the Rules of Procedure of the General
Assembly, which concerns the holding of regular sessions of the General
Assembly; and
CONSIDERING:
That by resolution AG/RES. 2615 (XL-O/10) the General Assembly accepted
the offer of the Government of the Plurinational State of Bolivia to
host the forty-second regular session of the General Assembly and
determined that said session would start on the first Monday in June
2012;
That by resolution AG/RES. 2697 (XLI-O/11) the General Assembly changed
the date for holding the forty-second regular session of the General
Assembly to July 8 to 10, 2012, owing to the fact that the United
Nations Summit on Sustainable Development - Rio + 20 was scheduled to be
held during the first week of June 2012, coinciding with the date
originally set for the above regular session of the General Assembly;
and
That the Summit on Sustainable Development - Rio + 20 has been postponed
by two weeks in June 2012,
RESOLVES:
Ad referendum of the General Assembly, to restore the original date set
for holding the forty-second regular session—that is, June 3 to 5,
2012—in Cochabamba, Bolivia, as was determined in resolution AG/RES.
2615 (XL-O/10), thus enabling it to be held in the second quarter of the
year, in accordance with its rules of procedure.
