AGENDA FOR THE MEETING IN WASHINGTON, D.C., FROM OCTOBER 7 TO 9, 2009,
OF THE SEVENTH INTER-AMERICAN SPECIALIZED CONFERENCE ON
PRIVATE INTERNATIONAL LAW (CIDIP-VII)
CONSIDERATION OF THE MODEL REGISTRY REGULATIONS UNDER THE MODEL
INTER-AMERICAN LAW ON SECURED TRANSACTIONS
(Adopted at the meeting of September 16, 2009)
THE PERMANENT COUNCIL OF
THE ORGANIZATION OF AMERICAN STATES,
HAVING SEEN the report by the Chair of the Committee on Juridical and
Political Affairs on the draft agenda for the Seventh Inter-American
Specialized Conference on Private International Law (CIDIP-VII);
CONSIDERING:
That, through resolution AG/RES. 1923 (XXXIII-O/03), the General
Assembly convened CIDIP-VII and that, through resolution AG/RES. 2065
(XXXV-O/05), it adopted two topics for it: Consumer Protection:
Applicable Law, Jurisdiction, and Monetary Redress (Conventions and
Model Laws); and Secured Transactions: Electronic Registries for
Implementation of the Model Inter-American Law on Secured Transactions;
and
That with respect to Secured Transactions, this Council approved the
Draft OAS Model Registry Regulations under the Model Inter-American Law
on Secured Transactions, presented by the member states, and that to
that end it convened a three-day meeting at OAS headquarters in
Washington, D.C., from October 7 to 9, 2009,
RESOLVES:
To approve the following agenda for the meeting to be held in
Washington, D.C., from October 7 to 9, 2009, of the Seventh
Inter-American Specialized Conference on International Private Law (CIDIP-VII):
Secured Transactions: Electronic Registries for Implementation of the
Model Inter-American Law on Secured Transactions. Consideration of the
Model Registry Regulations under the Model Inter-American Law on Secured
Transactions.
