PLACE AND DATE OF THE FORTIETH REGULAR SESSION
OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY

THE PERMANENT COUNCIL OF THE ORGANIZATION OF AMERICAN STATES,

HAVING SEEN Note No. 7-5-M/488 submitted by the Permanent Mission of Peru (CP/doc.4424/09) conveying the offer by the Government of Peru to host the fortieth regular session of the General Assembly, in Lima from June 6 through 8, 2010;

RECALLING resolution AG/RES. 2529 (XXXIX-O/09) in which the General Assembly decided that the fortieth regular session of the General Assembly would begin on the first Monday of June, 2010 at the headquarters of the OAS, in Washington, D.C.; and

TAKING INTO CONSIDERATION the provisions of Articles 43 and 45 of the Rules of Procedure of the General Assembly regarding the holding of regular sessions of the General Assembly and the decision on the venue,

RESOLVES:

1. To accept the offer of the Government of Peru and to decide that the fortieth regular session of the General Assembly be held in the city of Lima, Peru, from June 6 through 8, 2010.

2. To ask the Secretary General to transmit this resolution to the organs, agencies, and entities of the Organization.
