INVITATIONS TO THE THIRTY-SIXTH REGULAR SESSION OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY

 (Adopted at its session held on March 15, 2006)

THE PERMANENT COUNCIL OF THE ORGANIZATION OF AMERICAN STATES,

CONSIDERING the provisions of Article 9 of the Rules of Procedure of the General Assembly and the decision adopted by the Permanent Council on October 2, 1986,

RESOLVES:

1. To authorize the Secretary General of the Organization to invite the following inter-American regional or subregional governmental entities and agencies to attend the thirty-sixth regular session of the General Assembly as observers:

• Latin American Integration Association – LAIA
• Central American Bank for Economic Integration – CABEI
• Caribbean Development Bank – CDB
• Inter-American Development Bank - IDB
• Permanent Commission for the South Pacific – CPPS

• Financial Fund for the Development of the River Plate Basin– FONPLATA
• Agency for the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons in Latin America – OPANAL
• Organization of Eastern Caribbean States – OECS
• Latin American Energy Organization – OLADE
• Andean Parliament
• Central American Parliament
• Latin American Parliament
• Permanent Secretariat of the General Treaty on Central American Economic Integration – SIECA
• Secretariat of the Southern Common Market – MERCOSUR
• Central American Integration System – SICA
• Latin American Economic System – SELA

2. To authorize the Secretary General of the Organization to invite the following specialized agencies of the United Nations and other international organizations to send observers to represent them at the thirty-sixth regular session:
