DATE OF THE
THIRTY-THIRD
REGULAR SESSION OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY
THE PERMANENT COUNCIL OF THE ORGANIZATION OF AMERICAN STATES,
CONSIDERING that, in resolution AG/RES. 939 (XVIII-O/88), the General Assembly
recommended that the first Monday in June of each year be set as the opening
date for its regular sessions and that, in resolution AG/RES. 1687 (XXIX-O/99),
it determined that the thirty-third regular session of the General Assembly
would start on the first Monday in June in the year 2003;
BEARING IN MIND that, pursuant to Article 57 of the Charter of the Organization
of American States, the Permanent Council agreed in resolution CP/RES. 820
(1328/02) that the thirty-third regular session of the General Assembly would
be held in Chile; and
HAVING SEEN the note presented by the Permanent Mission of Chile
(CP/doc.3665/02), requesting a change of date for the thirty-third regular
session of the General Assembly and proposing that it be held on June 8-10,
2003, in order to facilitate the participation by member states in other
multilateral fora scheduled for the first week in June 2003,
RESOLVES:
1. To set June 8, 9, and 10, 2003, as the dates for the
thirty-third regular session of the General Assembly.
2. To request that the Secretary General transmit this
resolution to the organs, agencies, and entities of the Organization.
