VOTE OF THANKS TO THE GOVERNMENT AND PEOPLE
OF THE REPUBLIC OF COSTA RICA

        THE PERMANENT COUNCIL OF THE ORGANIZATION OF AMERICAN STATES,

CONSIDERING:

        That the thirty-first regular session of the General Assembly was held in San José, Costa Rica, on June 3, 4, and 5, 2001, as stipulated in resolution AG/RES. 1597 (XXVIII-O/98); and

        That during the closing session of that regular session of the General Assembly, the delegations unanimously decided to give a vote of recognition to His Excellency Roberto Rojas, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Worship of Costa Rica, President of the General Assembly, for his efficient, impartial, and wise leadership of the deliberations of the Assembly,

RESOLVES:

        To express its appreciation to the Government and people of Costa Rica for their generous hospitality and for their effective and unwavering support, which were essential to the successful work of the General Assembly at its thirty-first regular session.
