NOTICE OF CONVOCATION OF THE MEETING OF CONSULTATION OF MINISTERS OF
FOREIGN AFFAIRS IN ORDER TO ADDRESS THE SITUATION BETWEEN ECUADOR AND
THE UNITED KINGDOM OF GREAT BRITAIN AND NORTHERN IRELAND REGARDING THE
INVIOLABILITY OF THE DIPLOMATIC PREMISES OF ECUADOR IN THE UNITED
KINGDOM OF GREAT BRITAIN AND NORTHERN IRELAND IN ACCORDANCE WITH
INTERNATIONAL LAW
(Adopted at its session held on August 17, 2012)
THE PERMANENT COUNCIL OF THE ORGANIZATION OF AMERICAN STATES,
CONSIDERING the request made by the Government of the Republic of
Ecuador to the Permanent Council to convene a Meeting of Consultation of
Ministers of Foreign Affairs within the framework of the Charter of the
Organization of American States;
RESOLVES:
To convene a Meeting of Consultation of Ministers of Foreign Affairs at
the headquarters of the Organization of American States in Washington,
D.C., at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 24, 2012, in order:
1. To address the situation between Ecuador and the United Kingdom of
Great Britain and Northern Ireland regarding the inviolability of the
diplomatic premises of Ecuador in the United Kingdom Great Britain and
Northern Ireland in accordance with international law, and
2. To agree on appropriate measures to be adopted.
