WAIVERS, DISCLAIMERS AND OTHER CONDITIONS PERTAINING
TO THE USE OF THE DVD

The present DVD (hereinafter the DVD) consists of a compilation of information on the technical and regulatory aspects of the effects of non-ionizing electromagnetic emissions. It is not a final and definitive publication, but rather the second draft of a working document drawn up by the Rapporteur Group attached to the Chair of Permanent Consultative Committee II: Radiocommunications including Broadcasting (PCC.II) of the Inter-American Telecommunication Commission (CITEL) of the Organization of American States (OAS). The opinions presented and information reproduced in the DVD are exclusively those of the respective individual contributors and do not necessarily reflect the official views and positions of the General Secretariat of the Organization of American Status (GS/OAS), its staff, the OAS or its other bodies.

By using the DVD, users recognize and accept the above and accept the waivers and disclaimers of GS/OAS and OAS, as well as the other conditions indicated below:

  1. Users may use the contents of the DVD for non-commercial purposes, as long as they quote the source of the original material as specified on the DVD. Users may not sell the DVD, redistribute it, or generate other works from the DVD without the express written permission of the source of the original material.

  2. The quality and authenticity of the information reproduced in the DVD are the responsibility of the respective individual contributors, not of the GS/OAS, its staff, the OAS or its other bodies.

  3. The DVD provides links to web sites that are not controlled by the GS/OAS or the OAS. These links are presented only for the interest of the users. The GS/OAS, its staff, the OAS or its other bodies are not liable for the contents of said links. The presence of a link does not imply approval of its contents by the GS/OAS, its staff, the OAS, and its other bodies.

  4. The GS/OAS, the OAS and its other bodies make no warranty, either express or implicit, that the material is accurate, true, up-to-date or complete, and the GS/OAS, its staff, the OAS and its other bodies are not liable, in any way, for any expense or damage of any kind incurred as a consequence of its use, including expenses or damages stemming from any computer failure related to the use of the DVD.

  5. The GS/OAS, its staff, and the OAS are not liable for any action that might be taken in conformity with, or on the basis of, the information reproduced in the present DVD.

  6. As for the OAS, GS/OAS, the staff of GS/OAS, and other OAS bodies, users waive all rights to filing complaints, lawsuits and legal proceedings that might arise from the use of the DVD.

  7. Users shall compensate the OAS, GS/OAS, the staff of the GS/OAS and other OAS bodies for any proceeding, litigation, damage or loss, including, among others, court costs and expenses related to other dispute resolution forums, as well as professional fees for legal counsel, arising from the use of the present DVD and its contents by users.
