  • * Panama Canal Expansion
  • The expansion of the Panama Canal was initiated by the Consorcio Internacional Grupo Unidos por el Canal (GUPC), composed by the Spanish Sacyr-Vallehermoso, the Italian Impregilo, and the Belgium Jan de Nul companies and the construction company Panameña Urbana. The project aims to build locks that will allow the transit of larger ships. This expansion will increase by 40% the capacity of freight traffic through the routes connecting the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.
  • *New passengers’ terminal in the Port of Colonia (Uruguay)
  • The National Port Administration of Uruguay (ANP) has a new passenger terminal with the latest cutting-edge technology, which was built as a main tourist entrance to Uruguay, with an annual transit of two million passengers.
