Economy

The Bahamas is one of the wealthiest nations in the Caribbean region. Tourism accounts for the largest percent of GDP in the country; however, in efforts to diversify the economy, the Bahamas has been emphasizing the development of its industrial and agricultural sectors since the 1970s.

The economy continues to grow well, producing robust growth rates in the past decades.
