Climate:

Nicaragua's climate
is tropical, although it is cooler in the highlands. Humidity is
generally high and the average temperature is 78 F (27 C). The rainy
season runs from May through October. There are many volcanoes in the
country and earthquakes and tremors are not uncommon. Occasional
hurricanes, such as Hurricane Juana in 1988, which left 300,000 people
homeless, can be very destructive along the coasts.* Back
