Leadership Rice

Leadership Rice is a program designed for undergraduate students from Rice University which aims at: providing experiential breadth to complement academic depth; encouraging graduates to consider what contributions they can make to improving the world in their personal and professional lives; and developing an appreciation for effective leadership to begin an internal reflection on what values and ethics they will use in their personal and professional interactions.

In the summer of 1999, the Office of External Relations of the OAS and Leadership Rice began a new partnership through the "Leadership Rice Summer Mentorship Experience" to pair students with mentors in OAS headquarters in Washington DC. For eight weeks during the summer, students intern with their mentors, both shadowing and working. They also participate in supplemental training in leadership development.
