The Food Festival is an event envisioned for the enjoyment of the family and of all those who wish to be acquainted with and taste a sample of Latin American and Caribbean gastronomy as well as its culture. This event transports the public to a corner of each participating country through the tasting of typical meals, samples of crafts, music, dances and customs. Since its first edition, the Food Festival has taken place at the Aztec Gardens of the Main Building of the Organization of American States (OAS) in Washington D.C., and takes place during the last weekend of April every year.

This event takes place thanks to the participation of many collaborators and sponsors, such as the Permanent Missions of the member countries of the OAS which contribute with food, drinks, music and raffle prizes, and a substantial group of people, companies and organizations that donate their time and money to the festival.

The key to the success of the Food Festival throughout these years has been the generosity of those people who unconditionally work and contribute their time, money, skills, creativity and workmanship to make it possible. With the help of over 120 volunteers from the diplomatic missions, schools, parishes, congregations and universities, it has been possible to increase the funds collected every year in order to help the women and children of the Americas.
