Each year in April, the OAS Board of External Auditors publishes a report covering the previous calendar year’s financial results. Reports covering 1996-2016 may be found here.

OAS Judicial Facilitators Submit Report to General Assembly

The Inter-American Program of Judicial Facilitators, one of the flagship initiatives of the Organization of American States (OAS), gave a presentation to the OAS General Assembly, highlighting its participatory and innovative nature, which encourages access to justice for people in remote areas.
María Dolores Aráuz, the Program’s manager in Honduras, today explained at the General Assembly in Santo Domingo that the Program serves 5.7 million people in eight of the region’s countries: Argentina, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, and Paraguay. The Program has more than 11,000 facilitators, all of them volunteers working in villages, city neighborhoods, or indigenous communities.
As part of the presentation, three facilitators gave an account of their experiences to the delegates gathered at the General Assembly: Tatiana Gabaglio, from Asunción, Paraguay; Willies Rankin Gutiérrez, from Barra del Tortuguero, Limón Province, Costa Rica; and Ilsi Sop Cotoc, an indigenous woman from Quetzaltenango, Guatemala.
