Award Ceremony of the Third Cycle of the “Pitch It!: Learning and investing in your future”

  November 21, 2018

This Friday, at 9:30 am local time, the Organization of American States (OAS), together with the Trust of the Americas, and with the support of USAID Jamaica and the Ministry of National Security, will hold a ceremony to award the best entrepreneurship ideas created by 42 young people that exited the juvenile facilities of Jamaica.

It is a result of a one-week long training implemented by the A New Path Program, which promotes productive alternatives for juvenile remandees and offenders in the country, together with the improvement of their emotional, social, educational and economic conditions.

The best projects will be awarded seed capital in a total of U$60,000.

The ceremony on Friday will feature the participation of Ms. Jeanelle van Glaanenweygel, Country Representative of the OAS; Hon. Rudyard Spencer, Minister of State in the Ministry of National Security of Jamaica; Jason Fraser, Country Representative, United States Agency for International Development in Jamaica; and Milton Samuda, Chairman of the Institute of Law and Economics.
