OAS TO JOIN “CHALK4PEACE” PROJECT

The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), Jose Miguel Insulza will welcome children of all ages and nationalities who will sketch messages of peace with colored chalk on the sidewalks surrounding the main OAS building on Saturday, September 16. The children will participate in a global event known as the “Chalk4Peace” project.

The two-day event is sponsored by the Art Group of the OAS Staff Association. The OAS headquarters will be one of the roughly one thousand sites all over the world that will participate in the event. OAS Assistant Secretary General Albert Ramdin, Ambassador Michael King, Permanent Representative of Barbados to the OAS, and the Ambassador of Ecuador to the USA, Luis Gallegos.

The “Chalk4Peace” project began in the United Kingdom and will now be held simultaneously in several countries with the objective of promoting world peace.
