E-224/01 November 12. 2001    OAS SECRETARY GENERAL LAMENTS AIR TRAGEDY              The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), César Gaviria, epxressed his profound sorrow over today's airline crash in New York, which took the lives of more than 250 people, including some 175 citizens of the Dominican Republic.              "This tragedy once again causes the entire hemisphere to mourn," Gaviria said. "I would like to express the solidarity of all the OAS countries with the families of the victims and with the governments of the Dominican Republic and the United States."              # # #
