 KOREA MAKES CONTRIBUTION TO
EL SALVADOR EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS

The Korean government has made a donation of $100,000 towards relief effort to aid the victims of the January 13 earthquake in El Salvador, the Permanent Observer Mission of Korea to the Organization of American States has announced.

Korea is the latest OAS Observer country to enlist in the Salvadorian relief effort. Contributions have already come in from Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Equatorial Guinea, Finland, Germany, Israel, Italy, Morocco, Norway, The Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom and the European Union.

Besides the more than $15 million dollars in aid contributed by these OAS observers so far, assistance has also come from non-governmental organizations, other private institutions and individuals and citizens of several countries who have joined the effort to help deliver relief aid to the earthquake-torn Central American country.
