PRESS CONFERENCE ON INDIGENOUS RIGHTS
Ambassador Ronalth Ochaeta of Guatemala and indigenous leaders from throughout the Americas will hold a press conference Friday, at the conclusion of a week-long meeting on inidigenous rights held at the Organization of American States (OAS).
Ambassador Ochaeta chairs the working group on the proposed "American Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples." Government representatives from OAS member countries and some 70 indigenous leaders attended the meeting and participated in discussions about the draft text.
