Press Advisory December 5, 2000   IACD AND FIRST UNION NATIONAL BANK TO SIGN AGREEMENT   The Inter-American Agency for Cooperation and Development (IACD) and First Union National Bank will sign an informal understanding for a $50 million line of credit to fund programs in Latin America and the Caribbean that address issues of education, information technology and poverty alleviation. The signing will take place on Thursday, December 7, during the 24th Annual Miami Conference on the Caribbean and Latin America, and will be followed immediately by a press conference. The IACD was established in November 1999 by the Organization of American States (OAS) to expand and accelerate technical cooperation and training in the Americas.
