THE OAS AND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE STATE OF ISRAEL
WILL SIGN A COOPERATION AGREEMENT

The Organization of American States (OAS) and the Government of the State of Israel, through its Center for International Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MASHAV), have concluded negotiations on a Cooperation Agreement for the financing of development activities within the framework of the Inter-American Council for Integral Development (CIDI) and its Strategic Plan for Partnership for Development.

The purpose of the Agreement is to establish an OAS-Israel Cooperation Fund which will support human resource development through the training of specialists, the provision of technical experts and the exchange of information and experiences in development.

The Permanent Observer Mission of Israel to the OAS has stated that the signing of this Agreement is a renewed expression of its Government’s desire to expand the cooperation links it has forged since the establishment of the State of Israel, with the peoples and the governments of the Americas, both bilaterally and multilaterally through the OAS.
