EXCHANGE OF NOTES BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT OF CANADA AND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AMENDING THE TREATY ON EXTRADITION OF DECEMBER 3, 1971
I The Ambassador of Canada to Secretary of State of the United States of America Washington, D. C. June 28, 1974 No. 126 The Honourable Henry A. Kissinger,
EXCELLENCY, I have the honour to refer to the Treaty on Extradition between the Government of Canada and the Government of the United States signed at Washington on December 3, 1971 and to subsequent discussions between representatives of our two governments concerning the amendment of the said Treaty. Further to those discussions I now have the honour to propose that the said Treaty be amended as follows:
If this proposal meets with the approval of your government, I have the further honour to propose that this Note, which is authentic in English and in French, and your reply shall constitute an amendment to the Treaty on Extradition between Canada and the United States referred to above, which shall come into force on the date of the entry into force of the said Treaty and which shall be considered an integral part of the said Treaty. EXCELLENCY: I have the honor to refer to your Note of June 28, 1974, in the English and French languages, relating to amendment of the Treaty on Extradition between the United States of America and Canada, signed at Washington December 3, 1971. On behalf of the United States of America I confirm the understanding set forth therein and consider that your Note and this reply constitute an Agreement between the United States and Canada on this matter.
