The tables that follow contain information on the General Secretariat's staffing as of December 31, 1995.

Staff members are classified by type of appointment and by the fund from which they are financed; their employment category and nationality; their years of service and the level of their positions; their gender; their duty station; and whether or not they are members of the career service. This Annex also contains information on the performance contracts processed during 1995.

In studying the tables that compare December 31, 1995, figures with those of December 31, 1994, it must be remembered that a new category—that of special observers—has been added to the staff of the General Secretariat.
