This area involves development of policies and strategies for sensible exploitation of tourism resources, based on the structure and organization of the ecosystems and to strike a balance between tourism activities and those ecosystems so as to ensure that the resources are preserved.
In The Bahamas, preparation of the document on "National Policies for Sustainable Development of Tourism in the Bahamas Islands" was completed. This is a pilot project which will be extended to the other islands of the Caribbean under the region's Plurinational Tourism Project.
