This involves studies, planning and management to preserve the biodiversity (ecosystems and genetic reserves), national parks and similar preserves, natural monuments, scientific preserves and wildlife and habitat areas, and protected landscapes and seascapes.
As part of the Project on Environmental Management and Development of the La Amistad Park, Panama side, an institutional development proposal was completed for creating and managing a biosphere reserve. The final report was presented to the national authorities.
Seven forestry management proposals were completed for a number of conservation units in areas adjacent to the heart of the La Amistad International Biosphere Reserve, in Costa Rica and Panama.
