Thematic Network: Invasive Species

1. Summary: The “Laboratorio de Invasiones Biológicas (LIB)” has worked since its beginnings in 2008 in the creation of a Invasive Exotic Plants (IEP) database. At the moment the database includes 690 species and has been partially released in our web site. This project aims to complement and to strengthen the Chilean PEI data base for IABIN. We propose to complete all information fields of the I3N database and to add other fields considered relevant. To present this information through the I3N network would be a great opportunity for the LIB to accomplish our main goal: to increase the knowledge about biological invasions in order to reduce their impacts in natural ecosystems.
