Technical Secretariat for the Implementation of the “Program of Action for the Decade of the Americas for the Rights and Dignity of Persons with Disabilities (2006-2016)”

Objetives:

To create a space for the exchange of actions and information among member states to facilitate the implementation of the Program of Action for the Decade of the Americas for the Rights and Dignity of Persons with Disabilities and their Families (states, civil society, universities, and multilateral organizations).

To promote the mainstreaming of the Decade objectives throughout the inter-American system.

To promote participation by civil society and persons with disabilities and their families in implementing the Program of Action.

To promote research at all levels to contribute to the fulfillment of the objectives of the Program of Action.

To promote cooperation with the Committee for the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities provided for in the Inter-American Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities.

Headquarters:

The headquarters of the Technical Secretariat will be located in Panama City, Republic of Panama.
